Yeah well the braces suck. However they don’t make you a geek, and I’ve known people who look fantastic with braces on and that is not a lie. They suck while they’re on, but once they’re off you’ll be thankful you had them because straight teeth can really make a huge difference. I also ate a lot of ice cream. It’s good for the pain. - Bruce

I was talking to a good friend of mine about polyamorous relationships, and he thought I was asking him to be in one with me and another friend of ours. It resulted in a horribly awkward conversation and his eventual admittance that he thinks polyamory is wrong. After he said that, I lied and said I agreed. Now I feel a bit distanced from him because I don't handle awkward situations well. I'm bad at talking to people and I don't know what to do now.

Unfortunately sometimes people have different beliefs. In the end, we usually have to just accept that everyone’s not always going to subscribe to our belief system, and just push it aside. If he can’t do that then it may be a road block in your friendship, but it probably won’t be. I’d say just continue talking to him as you usually would, there’s not really a need to bring it up again if neither of you really wants to. - Tony

Evaluate the risk. In the end, you have to decide whether it’s worth it to risk asking him and knowing, or not knowing at all. Is the not knowing worse than him saying he’d rather be friends? - Bruce
